Biography

Fedor Ivandikov is originally from Moscow, Russia. His higher education started with a bachelor’s degree completed with the Physical Electronics chair of the Physics Faculty at Moscow State University. He later achieved his Master’s degree in plasma physics in the same university, working on electric propulsion devices utilizing electromagnetically heated and collimated plasma jets. In the course of his studies and research at Moscow State University Fedor has had the chance to get experience with preparing an experiment from the design stage all the way through to obtaining useful data with the newly constructed setup.

The LISA program served as the perfect continuation to this experience. Fedor’s activities within the network span from participating in online experiments at CERN and GSI to commissioning a new iteration of a laser spectroscopy experiment for GSI.

In his free time Fedor enjoys The Great Outdoors, gigs and the visual arts.

Research at LISA ITN

Development of the In-Gas Laser Ionisation and Spectroscopy (IGLIS) technique for applications at GANIL and GSI. Laser spectroscopy of heavy and superheavy elements at GSI

Impact of this research

Development of ionisation schemes for ThII, development of experimental and modelling techniques for operating a gas cell used with radioactive ion beams.
