Mitzi Urquiza is from Mexico City, Mexico. She received her Bachelor's Degree from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM), and conducted her master degree project at the University of Gothenburg, Sweden with the Linnaeus-Palme exchange program. Her research experience goes from a summer internship at DESY, Hamburg, Germany, where she explored topics of High Energy Physics to optical and laser physics in Sweden, focused on optical levitation of micron-sized objects. Ultimately, she chose to pursue a career in laser physics and applied to the LISA project.
When not in the lab, Mitzi spends her free time exploring town, watching movies, and eating new things.
She is looking forward to eating Schnitzel again, to get away from the big cities, and enjoy the wonders of the European public transport.
